Centre Overview
The centre first opened in 1986, and was purchased by Westfield in 1999. Westfield spent NZ$170 million redeveloping the centre from 2004–2006, effectively doubling its size. Westfield Queensgate stills remains as one of the Hutt Valley's first-choice shopping and lifestyle destinations. The centre boasts a wide range of specialty stores, four majors, over 1,800 car spaces and a 550-seat food court. In late 2006, EVENT Cinemas opened its Wellington flagship cinema complex at the centre, complementing the retail offer.
